Not my finest moment

So I was trying to be nice and make a pair of shorts for sleeping for my pal.......but some how I lost my way. Granted this was really early on in my sewing life but still! They make me laugh every time I look at them :)

So they don't look so bad from far away but if you look closer...

Something is off?... I dont' know what but something...

Oh I know one leg is shorter and tighter than the other!!!!

See :) plus they are cut with a pretty LOW rise! Ha ha ha ha

A Birthday Shirt?

Apparently this is an "in" thing to do for your kiddo's when they are having a birthday :) I was clueless but my son's very with it God Mother told me I should make her little cutie one. So I looked up a tutorial on one of the many blogs I LOVE! and this is what I got! I have to say I am very proud of myself!
I printed a #3 in the exact font and size I was told to which is 300 and hobo. Then I traced it onto the interfacing on the wrong side.( that is all I had). Then cut it out and ...

Oh plus some cute little tractors!

glued it on the shirt (dollar store) with fabric glue and...

sewed it in place with a zig zag stitch( which I was super nervous to do since I had never sewed curves before)!

and we had a very happy birthday indeed! Go Mommy!

I love Super Heros

As most people know I love my super heros just as much a five year olds do :) What I don't like is that they don't really make girly fitting shirts with super heros on them soooooo I took my favorite shirt and made it super cute!

First I cut a more flattering neck line into my super cool
Transformers T-shirt!

Then I cut some of that boy T-shirt arm off.

Then I took some length off the bottom :)
and I made this cute ruffle neck trim with it!Yay!

I am totally a beginner but I  added some of this lacy trim tape stuff to the arms and to the
bottom hem. Love it!  Notice all the threads hanging in the sunlight? I just did ha ha ha

This is one of most favorite shirts now! and I don't look like a five year old dressed me!
(I am a preschool teacher though so some things will never change)

My T-shirt ripping phase

So since sewing was not coming as easily as I would have liked I decided to try some very little sewing involved projects. So I looked up all kinds of t-shirt remodeling videos on U-tube :) It really made me feel better to have some success! I made so many shirts, gave some away and  now that I want to post some pictures of them I can't find them all. Anyway here goes some of my t-shirt reconstructions...

Not so straight, but looks oh so cute on.
No sewing here but really cute! If your wondering what it says..... yeah not very
appropriate but WTH right...

One Men's  X-Large T-shirt into
a super cute halter top :)

See they have some sewing... my machine did that ;)

The Sewing Machines.....

Well first I was attempting to use my good friends machine which she so graciously let me borrow. But I am slow and I could not figure it out for the life of me!~ So my dear sweet husband saw his damsel in distress and went and surprised her with a newer "sewing for dummies" ( I like to call it) model! Shown in picture above. I love him!
